Web Design with Hugh Miller
This is a six session class (2 hours each) in web design. It begins at the beginning with basics: links and page appearance. My focus in the class is good workflow. How to work like a professional - in other words, how to do web design and still get home for dinner. Software: Adobe Dreamweaver.
- Session 1: Realities in the world of web design. Setting up your site. The Dreamweaver interface. Adding links and images.
- Session 2: Beginning Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). The power work flow for controlling how your pages look and behave.
- Session 3: Dreamweaver templates: Take charge of everything on your web site with this brilliant web site power tool.
- Session 4: Working with images - getting images ready for the web. Building your design in Photoshop, exporting to Dreamweaver.
- Session 5: CSS page design, Javascript interactivity on the web.
- Session 6: Uploading and publishing. Finding a web host, reserving domains, getting ready for Google.

Flash
Currently a five session (2 hours each) class in Adobe Flash. Like my Dreamweaver class it starts at the beginning and then gets busy on work flow.
- Session 1: The Flash interface, the drawing tools. and basic graphic symbols.
- Session 2: Beginning animation. Frame by frame vs. motion tweening.

- Session 3: Motion guides, movie symbols, bitmaps, etc.
- Session 4: Button symbols, actionscript.
- Session 5: More actionscript, beginning game theory, exporting for the web.

Microsoft Office 2007
A five session (3 hours each) class in MS Office 2007.
- Session 1: MS Word. Starting from the ground up in what is likely to be the most easily understood of the programs.
- Session 2: MS Excel. This powerful spreadsheet program is easier to use than most people realize, as long as you keep alert to basic errors and bring your common sense.
- Session 3: MS PowerPoint: "The most misused program in the world". Best practices and barrels of fun effects. The graphic highlight of Office.
- Session 4: MS Access. This relational database program is a wonderful addition to your Office skills. Don't be intimidated, it isn't so bad.
- Session 5: Mixing and matching Office programs. Tonight is about using these programs together - synthesizing their different formats into something new.

Intro to PCs
This is a wonderful class for computer beginners. 4 sessions, 3 hours each.
- Session 1: The things everyone should know about computers (too bad they don't).What is going on,, what the hardware does, what the software does. Basic computer use. Saving files, finding your way.
- Session 2: Really understanding Windows.
- Session 3: Using Programs.
- Session 4: The world wide web.
